Geography of the Hapless Heart: “Sweat” Trailer

23 Jun

Okay, so if you haven’t noticed, Alex Pettyfer news has been very slow lately. I would actually use “dry spell” to describe it because it’s been a while since real Alex news came out, since “Beastly’s” release date changed & Alex started filming “I Am Number Four.” So, these days, we’re posting anything and everything that even mentions Alex.

If you recall, back in April, we posted that Alex was going to be the associate producer for “Sweat” — one of 5 short films that will be a part of “Geography of the Hapless Heart.” “Sweat” stars Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter movies) and Matthew McNulty.

5 Tales exploring the journeys our hearts make towards – and away from – intimacy

Geography is more than location, it’s the places our hearts dwell … and distances we travel to find that place.

An international multi director feature film exploring the complexities of intimacy and distance; Geography of The Hapless Heart is comprised of five thematically intertwined stories about the unpredictable journeys of the human heart.

This looks very good…I can’t wait to watch it! If you go on the movie’s official site, you will be able to see Alex Pettyfer’s name listed under “Cast & Crew”!

‘Beastly’ Trailer Songs!

25 Apr

Really quickly, I just wanted to remind you all about Remembering the Beast – Our Alex Pettyfer & Beastly fan project. You can find out full details by clicking here! And remember, if you link back to our fan project on Twitter, your blog, or anywhere else where we can see the link….we’ll link you on ATB’s sidebar! Also, we need more ideas for the fan project for what we can do on the site to spread the word about ‘Beastly’ …if you have any ideas, please e-mail alex.thebeast@live.com! Now onto the post…

I’ve been asked countless times over the last week since the trailer came out (it’s been a week? wow.) about the songs that were used. Well, I did some research and found out what the two songs that were used on the ‘Beastly’ Trailer are.

First up, we have Hey Boys and Girls by Evermore:

Next song, towards the end of the trailer, is Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie:

Also, in case you wanted to hear the songs in the trailer, or just watch it again….here’s the latest ‘Beastly’ trailer!!!

Hope this answered all your questions! It’s cool knowing the songs used on the trailer now….both are amazing songs & bands!!! 😀

‘Beastly’ Trailer: The Moments That Made Us Hungry For More

19 Apr

From HollywoodCrush:

Judging from your enthusiasm over our teaser post Friday with an exclusive new “Beastly” still, we knew you’d be up bright and early (does 9:30 a.m. count as “bright and early”?) to catch the brand new theatrical trailer, and you, our beloved Crush readers, did not disappoint. Since we’re you as well as we have been watching the two-and-a-half-minute-long trailer on repeat all morning, we figured we’d toss up a post to start a conversation about what parts of the trailer made us yell, “More! More! More!”

We already saw much of the introductory footage of “Beastly” in its February featurette, but the one aspect we thought this new trailer was completely lacking was a look at Kyle Kingston’s father. Clearly the man plays a big role in Kyle’s (Alex Pettyfer) life. It was his father who put the idea in Kyle’s head that looks mean everything in the business world, but also locked him up in a NYC apartment after he was hit with the witch’s curse. Who is this a-hole, and when do we get a chance to meet him? It’s questionable at this point whether we’ll actually see his father in the film at all.

The trailer lingered a bit too long on the curse of the witch Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen) at the beginning of the trailer, which meant we didn’t have nearly enough time to see Kyle and Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens) start falling in love. While there were plenty of quick shots of scenes featuring the two of them together at the end of the trailer, we really wanted to see more significant moments between Kyle and Lindy. Sure, CBS Films can’t give too much away (there are still three months until it hits theaters on July 30), but consider us adequately teased, so now we want more.

It also would have been really nice to see a bit more of Kyle’s lair. We know that this film is a reimagining of the “Beauty and the Beast” tale, but we can’t help thinking about the Disney version of the story as well. If the green house in this film is Lindy’s version of Belle’s library, then where is Kyle’s “West Wing” that he doesn’t want anyone to see? How has he turned the apartment he was banished to into his own dark area? All we really saw in the trailer was the initial empty apartment right after Kyle moved in.

And last but not least, we want more NPH! We’re beginning to live by the theory that everything is better with a little Neil Patrick Harris, which is why he made a surprise appearance at the Oscars, is going toguest-star on an episode of “Glee,” and could be getting a feature film sequel to “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” So why so light on the NPH scenes in this trailer? We saw more hilarity between his character Will and Kyle in the featurette than we did in this, so next time, please tease us with a little bit more.

I soo agree with needing more footage on Kyle’s dad! July 30th here we come!!
